Ms. Erin
I graduated with honors from Ringling College of Art and Design where I was technically trained in figure drawing and painting. I started teaching kids to draw in college as an art camp counselor. Post graduation, I began working as an illustrator and graphic designer and became a faculty member of the Denver Art Students League. I am also a portrait photographer and restore picture frames. I am passionate about teaching and feel grateful to connect with kids as both a drawing coach and mentor. Whether you are looking to go to the local art school, or just want to learn for fun, I’d like to teach you.
My Teaching Style
Anyone can learn to draw and you dont have to be perfect at it. When kids learn to draw they develop confidence and the ability to disengage their perfectionist side. Learning to draw from observation can feel vulnerable. I balance praise and encouragement with suggestions and tips on improving techniques. My drawing prompts balance personal expression with skill building. I believe creativity thrives within the confines of parameters, so my assignments allow for a balance of doing what you want while following guidelines designed to build your skills.
